Modern Mythology
A brilliant short film, from the very talented writer-director duo Tell No One(A.K.A. Luke White and Remi Weekes), retelling Titian’s “Diana and Actaeon”. The painting, considered by many as the Venetian Renaissance master Titian’s greatest work, was acquired by the National Gallery in London this summer along with two other paintings from Poesies (a series of Titian’s paintings where he depicted scenes from Ovid’s “Metamorphoses”).

In the exhibition held between 11 July - 22 September ‘12, they were seen together for the “first time since the 18th century.” To celebrate (and as part of the Cultural Olympiad’s London 2012 Festival) the gallery has brought together an array of artists commissioned to respond to the three paintings on display.
The film does a tremendous retelling of the original myth and painting and at times the visual effects are so stunning they could be paintings themselves.

A short artistic documentary written and directed by Paul Rojanathara & Davis Johnson, produced by R+I Creative on the idea of the “Influencer marketing”, which emerged in marketing in the 50s and is still relevant today.

The film focuses on the concept of “Lifestyle Culture” in the areas of music, fashion, and entertainment and it does not pretend to offer an analysis of what is influence under all its forms (economic, political, environmental etc.)

INFLUENCERS is a short documentary that explores what it means to be an influencer and how trends and creativity become contagious today in music, fashion and entertainment.

The film attempts to understand the essence of influence, what makes a person influential without taking a statistical or metric approach.

Written and Directed by Paul Rojanathara and Davis Johnson, the film is a Polaroid snapshot of New York influential creatives (advertising, design, fashion and entertainment) who are shaping today’s pop culture. “Influencers” belongs to the new generation of short films, webdocs, which combine the documentary style and the online experience.

For a bonus note, the first season of “In-depth series”, a video content platform planned in parallel to provide an in-depth understanding on the topics mentioned in the film, will debut online Wednesday, November 17 at www.influencersfilm.com

About the title and its meaning:

I was supposed to write this post about 2 or 3 weeks ago, but never had the time to. The idea was to write a little bit about the post-apocalyptic situation, may it be after a global catastrophe like a disease or earthquakes, or a huge economic crisis or an unrealistic chance of a zombie-invasion. But today I felt like writing, I tried to put some order into my thoughts and realized that today is not a Sunday. Nevertheless nobody really cares what day it is- especially not the zombies.

For the past 3 years I have been obsessed with the idea of an apocalypse. This might sound absolutely crazy but let me explain: So far mankind has achieved so much, many good as well as bad things. Especially in the last decades, we realized that knowledge grows in an exponential way. It was then that I started to wonder where this enormous amount of information is stored. Most of it is stored in the virtual world of computers. An EMP (electromagnetic pulse) could easily erase most of the world’s information. Nobody knows what would happen next, but there are a lot of amazing and/or funny and/or interesting theories out there. I’ll just try to present one little aspect every time.
